Biography

Alex Kalil, President, Kalil Consulting Group, received his B.A. Degree in Economics and International Government from Harvard University. He joined a Boston-based Investment Counsel firm and began a 15-year career as an Investment Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager in the Boston, Los Angeles and Toronto offices. Since the late 70's, he has been involved in re-engineering and rolling-up several companies in the Leisure-Time, Energy, Micro-Electronic and Nano-Technology industries, as well as nurturing start-ups in these and other sectors. Mr. Kalil currently acts as a mentor/advisor to three private companies (PME), and as a Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies in the McGill MBA and B.Comm. Programs. In the latter case, he was appointed as a founding Dobson Fellow, in recognition of 15 years of lecturing and mentoring under the umbrella of the Dobson Centre at the McGill/Desautels Faculty of Management. Mr. Kalil is presently a Governor Emeritus of McGill University, having served previously as an active Member of the Board of Governors. He was also a founding member of the Board of Directors of PROMPT-Quebec, and served six years as Chair of a previous Research Network at McGill, Agile All-Photonic Networks (AAPN).
