The 4th Annual Research Review of the hSITE Network was held
November 18, 2013, in Montreal. Attendees included Network
researchers, students and post-doctoral fellows, and
representatives from our industry, healthcare and university
partners.
This year’s event showcased some exciting results from the
Network-funded research. The agenda included demo-focused
presentations by five hSITE researchers, as well as hSITE-related
highlights from two of our industrial partners (Chris Ault, QNX
Software Systems, and Suzanne Rochford, Telus Health).
A student poster and demo session/competition, featuring
30 posters and 12 demos, completed the day. Winners of the
poster competition were:
Stephanie Bennett (Carleton University): “Automated
Assessment of Mobility in Bedridden Patients”; Hadi Bahrami
(Université Laval): “Realizing Implanted Wireless UWB
Transceiver for Neural Recording Applications”; Emily Porter
(McGill University): “Microwave Radar for Breast Imaging”.
The winning demo was presented by Akib Uddin (University
of Toronto): “Application of Medical Body Area Networks to
Reduce Blood Pressure in Ambulatory Settings”
Network members can review all the presentations by
